Tell me what you want, what you really, really want. If you said a Spice Girls reunion, you're in luck. The British pop group is planning a reunion tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their first hit single, "Wannabe."
Melanie "Mel B" Brown (Scary Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) are all game to reunite. The group last performed together four years ago at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
"This has been in the works for the past year," a source said. "The girls have long been keen to do a major reunion tour together."
Not everyone is too keen to get back together. Victoria Beckham aka Posh Spice has made clear several times that she has no interest in strapping back on her platform shoes and is focused on her family and fashion career. She married former pro soccer player David Beckham in 1999 and they have four children together.
"I won't ever do it again," Beckham said in 2014."Doing the Olympics was an incredible honor. I was so proud to do it, proud to be British. That was a perfect time to say, 'That's great. Thank you to everybody, but no more. Sometimes you've got to know when it's time to leave the party."
The rest of the Spice Girls are still down to party and will do it with or without Posh, although there is a small chance she could still play a part in the reunion. It just won't involve singing or dancing.
"They are trying to convince Victoria to jump in, but she doesn't want to do it," a second source said. "If she doesn't agree, they are moving ahead without her.
The first source added, "There's a small chance she'll film something with them or make an appearance at a show here and there."
None of the other four Spice Girls has confirmed a reunion tour, but most have expressed interest in getting back together. Mel B joked in December that she may be the one starting all the rumors of a potential reunion.
"I think I'm the one putting all the rumors out there," she said during a U.K. TV special. "To be serious, it is our 20th anniversary this year and it would be rude not to celebrate.... So, hopefully, something will be happening pretty soon.... I can't tell you what it is yet."
