Fans of Harry Potter, in particular, are set in a frenzy with news that director Michael Bay is in the famous Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.Official film production of Transformers 5 started in June 2016. The production team is apparently traveling various set locations to take the viewers around the world in this new adventure of humans and Autobots.
Mark Wahlberg who reprised his role as Cade Jeager in the fourth installment of Transformers was recently spotted by Daily Mail shooting an "explosive" scene in Alnwick Castle with Sir Anthony Hopkins.
As per the report of Cinema Blend, Transformers: The Last Knight storyline involves some references to English legend of King Arthur and Merlin. It is no surprise then, that Bay and his team is at Alnwick Castle or most popularly known from blockbuster-hit Harry Potter as Hogwarts.
In an earlier report of Headlines and Global News, storyline leaks suggest that Optimus Prime is trying to retrieve a mysterious artifact that would be able to save and bring back to life his friends in Cybertron. This artifact is further alluded to be "Excalibur," the legendary sword of King Arthur.
Not much is known what specific details of scenes are shot at Alnwick Castle. One thing is for sure, however, Harry Potter fans are likely to get a treat of nostalgia from the glimpse of the castle where their favorite young wizard explored magic.
Reports have shown that the team began filming short scenes in Havana, Cuba then moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Last August, Transformers 5 filming commenced in Europe.
Transformers 5 is the fifth and final installment of the franchise to be directed by Michael Bay. It is expected to hit theaters on June 23, 2017.
