Sony and LG have already unveiled their best makes in the recently held Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. Sony, the Japanese tech giant launched four new smartphones and one of the smartphones named as Xperia XZ Premium was awarded as the "Best New Smartphone of 2017."
LG, the Korean tech giant also launched the most awaited LG G6 flagship at MWC 2017. There are recent reports popping up that LG G6 is in full demand as the Korean tech market has already witnessed the pre-orders reaching up to 40,000 in just four days. So, it is a battle between the two best devices launched at MWC 2017, Barcelona.
Sony Xperia XZ Premium vs. LG G6
Display: Sony Xperia XZ Premium holds a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x1920 pixels resolution with a pixel density of 424ppi. The LCD capacitive touch screen display is protected by a corning gorilla glass and the phone totally measures to 146mm x 72mm x 8.1mm and weighs 161g.
On the other hand, LG G6 sports a 5.7-inch display with minimum bezels at the side. The screen has a 1440x2880 resolution and 564ppi pixel density. LG boasts claims that the LG G6 is first to include Dolby Vision display technology (for, in Dolby's words, "astonishing brightness, contrast and color") and a FullVision display. Hardware: Sony Xperia XZ Premium is powered by Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 quad core processor with Adreno 530 GPU under the hood. This powerful processor is paired with a 4GB of RAM and 32GB and 64GB internal storage options. The device is also equipped with a slot for microSD card with which the storage of the phone can be expanded up to 256GB. The Sony Xperia XZ Premium runs with a Android 7.1 Nougat OS and a 2,900mAh non removable battery with quick charge support.
On the other hand, LG G6 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core chipset (2x2.35GHz & 2x1.6GHz) seated together with 4GB RAM. This handset also comes in two storage options, either 32GB storage or 64GB storage and a microSD slot for storage expansion up to 256GB. LG G6 runs Android 7.0 Nougat with LG UX 6.0 overlay and is powered by a 3,300mAh non-removable battery with fast charging support.
Camera: Sony Xperia XZ Premium is equipped with an entirely new camera system called the 'Motion Eye' which is claimed to be the world's first memory stacked sensor. The Japanese tech giant has embedded fast memory right into the camera stack which allows the Smartphone to capture video at 960 frames per second. The phone has a 19MP rear camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and comes with SteadyShot and an 'Anti-distortion' shutter. The front end of the handset is incorporated with 13MP camera lens.
On the other hand, the LG G6 sports a dual-camera setup of 13-megapixel cameras on the rear, which is claimed to be a wide-angle camera with a 125-degree lens, for optimal panoramic shooting and it is believed to be almost similar to a human's field of view. The front face of the Smartphone is featured with a 5-megapixel selfie shooter.
