Beyonce's 'Drunk In Love' Gets Censored On British Radio Due To Jay Z's Lyrics Referencing Domestic Violence? (LISTEN)

Another song off of Beyoncé's hit visual album has landed her in hot water, this time for allegedly promoting domestic violence.

Britain's Bang Radio has censored the "Grown Woman" singer's track "Drunk in Love" featuring her husband Jay Z has a lyric referencing Tina Turner and Ike Turner's rocky relationship. Jay's lyric states:

"Now eat the cake, Anna Mae / I said eat the cake, Anna Mae."

"Eat the cake, Anna Mae" reportedly refers to a scene in the film "What's Love Got to Do With It" where Ike forces Turner to eat in a graphic, disturbing scene. Bang Radio's CEO Jennifer Ogole released the following statement about the decision to censor the song:

"The lyrics controversially imitate a scene of severe domestic violence. We believe in the unity of women and music and in no way condone violence, domestic or otherwise, especially not through the power of music. Therefore, the decision has been made to wipe the stated lyrics from the song ... Respectful of what our audience [wants] to hear on Bang Radio, we feel this is the right action to take in regards to the controversial lyrics of the song and we will continue to serve in social equality for people through music and content on our station."

It is the second time the singer has caused controversy on a song as another single, "XO", was slammed for using audio from the Challenger accident in 1986. The shuttle exploded almost immediately after take-off, according to multiple reports. The couple is reportedly expected to perform "Drunk in Love" during the 2014 Grammy Awards on Sunday, but no word if the lyric will be censored for the show.

Jay and Beyoncé have a powerful influence on the music industry and were recently recognized as the top power couple of Billboard's Power 100 List.

"Artists have always had the power but courage is in short supply. It's just that the hip-hop generation believes in the possibilities," Lyor Cohen, a longtime associate of Jay Z and 74th on the list, told Billboard. "Jay and Beyoncé don't listen to the noise-they make the noise."
