‘Batman Vs. Superman’ Movie: Jason Momoa Thinks Aquaman Rumors are Ridiculous but Could See Playing Lobo in ‘Man of Steel 2’ (VIDEO)

Jason Momoa thinks rumors that he'll play Aquaman in Zack Snyder's "Batman Vs. Superman" are ridiculous. The "Game of Thrones" actor was at a convention in Bucharest when a reporter asked him about the casting rumor.

"I couldn't even be more random for Aquaman, you know, with the blonde hair," he said. "I don't even know where that comes from, it's like being... uh... Robin or something. Who pulls that out? I see that on the Internet and I'm like, 'Aquaman? A guy like... Lobo I could see.'"

It's been rumored for months now that the 34-year-old actor would not only appear in the sequel to "Man of Steel" but a "Justice League" film as well. According to a report by TheWrap in late April, production was eyeing an actor to play the role of Aquaman but it wasn't Momoa.

"One casting rumor that has been circulating around Hollywood for more than a year is that Affleck's close friend and collaborator Matt Damon is being sought to play Aquaman, though to be fair, Jason Momoa has also been rumored for that role (among others), and he is expected to appear in 'Batman Vs. Superman' in some unknown capacity," the site reports.

Around that same time, Batman News reported that Momoa had already signed on for a role in the unnamed sequel but the character he would be playing was being kept under wraps.

"According to my source, Momoa signed the dotted line and joined the 'Batman Vs. Superman' cast a couple of months ago," the site reports. "There's no word yet on who Momoa will be playing, but previous rumors have tied him to Aquaman. I'm labeling this as a rumor for now, but I feel that this information is accurate based on who I got it from."

Back in January, there were rumors that "Lost" star Josh Holloway was being "strongly" considered for a role in Snyder's film, specifically as Aquaman. "Batman Vs. Superman" stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
