"Arrow" actor Stephen Amell shot down the "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" casting rumors on his official Facebook account.
Amell spoke about his upcoming appearance at San Diego Comic Con 2014 in a Facebook post. Fans began to speculate the actor was cast as the Green Arrow in DC and Warner Bros. "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" production.
Soon after Amell announced his Comic Con appearance, the actor commented on the "Batman v. Superman" rumors on his Facebook account.
"I appreciate all the support and enthusiasm, but not everything I post is a cryptic indicator that I'm going to be in Batman v. Superman," Amell wrote. "I'm not going to be in Batman v. Superman."
Fans quickly turned their attention to the "Justice League" movie, which will reportedly hit theaters a year after "Batman v. Superman." Amell continued to deny any connection to the Warner Bros. production.
"The next time that I either do a video or an interview with a journalist that I like, I'll be happy to explain why this is the case," Amell told his Facebook followers, according to ComicBook.com. "Short form - it's not a barometer on ability or the quality of genre - TV V Film, no pun intended.
"Everything here boils down to logistics. In any event... thank you for how much support you've showed me. But keep in mind, playing Arrow on television isn't a consolation prize. We play the definitive versions of our characters in the DC Universe."
"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" will star Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Laurence Fishburne, Ray Fisher and more. The film will be released to theaters on May 6, 2016.
