iPhone 5S Rumors: Grey 'Graphite' Color With Black Trim Will Join 'Champagne' Gold Color Options For Apple's New Device

Apple is expected to unveil the next installment of its popular flagship smartphone family, the iPhone 5S on September 10. In recent weeks, rumors have surfaced that the talk of the town at the company's press event for the unveiling will be all about color options. In the wake of last week's rumor about a gold or "champagne" colored iPhone 5S with a white trim comes the counter-part to that color option, a grey or "graphite" iPhone 5S with black trim.

Accroding to Apple tracker Sonny Dickson, who posted images of the graphite concept on his blog Monday, the color option will be available alongside the champagne colored version when the phone launches next month.

While nothing is confirmed by Apple, it would make sense for the company to offer an option for the users who like the idea of breaking away from black and white but feel champagne gold with white trim isn't for them. By offering a darker colored option, Apple has a way of reinventing its look without reinventing its fans.

With the iPhon 5S on its way, the color options coincide with other rumors that September 10 will be the launch date of the new, low-cost iPhone C. The C is expected to replace older iPhone models like the 4 and 4S and will help Apple keep better tabs on its performance in the low-end market. The new iPhone C models will be cheaper and feature a plastic backing that can come in a variety of colors including red, blue, white, yellow and green. With these fun colors making up the low-end market for iPhone, it would make sense for graphite and champagne to be the color options for its more high-end devices. The 5S is still expected to be the flagship iPhone, but offering a few new colors is an indirect way of showing that they still want people to buy from the high-end, but know there is a low-end market for their devices as well.

It's important to note that nothing is has been confirmed yet by the company, which is keepings its mouth shut regarding any new development going on these days. However, if the rumors are to be believed, fans will see the iPhone C in all its colors and the iPhone 5S in black, white, champagne and now graphite when its all unveiled to the world at a Sept. 10 press event.
