Campbell Soup: SpaghetiiOs Recall Of 355,000 Cans Amid Choking Hazard Concerns

Uh-oh! SpaghettiOs maker Campbell's Soup Company has issued a voluntary recall of 355,000 of SpaghettiOs Original in the U.S. due to a possible choking hazard, according to a company statement released Thursday.

The company said pieces of red plastic, part of the can's lining, were found in a small number of the 14.2 ounce cans, according to CNN.

The recall comes after the company received complaints from consumers about the potential choking hazards being found in their food. However, while it said the plastic is a choking hazard, it notes the plastic is also food grade, so its safe upon ingestion.

The cans affected by the recall have a date of Feb. 22, 2017 that is stamped on the base of the can, and a UPC code of 51000 22432 that is printed under the bar code, according to Syracuse.

"This product should not be eaten," Campbell said, adding that the product should be returned to the store of purchase for an exchange or full refund.

"We apologize for any inconvenience," Campbell's concluded.
