It's official! Ladies and gentlemen, Maksim Chmerkovskiy is engaged.
The former "Dancing With the Star" pro dancer proposed to his girlfriend Peta Murgatroyd on Saturday in Miami during the third night of performances for "SWAY: A Dance Trilogy."
"I'm in love with you, and I want to be in love with you for the rest of my life," Chmerkovskiy told Murgatroyd before he got down on one knee on stage. Murgatroyd, of course, said, "Yes."
Her response prompted the entire audience to applaud the newly engaged couple.
"She said 'yes,'" Chmerkovskiy wrote on Instagram with a photo from the magical proposal. His brother, Val Chmerkovskiy, also confirmed the exciting news with his own post on social media.
"I love the two of you will all my heart. You have my brothers loyalty, heart. His one and only for the rest of his life," he wrote. "You're family now and that makes you my sister, the second most important woman in my life. What's mine is yours. Forever and always. Petachka your team got numbers now #trapqueenfolife #famovereverything @petamurgatroyd @maksimc."
The couple's friend and fellow professional dancer Sharna Burgess took to her Instagram to share the good news. She posted an image of the proposal happening, with the caption, "So this just happened!!!! Ahhhhh I'm so excited for my loves!! @maksimc and @petamurgatroyd it's about bloody time!!!! Congratulations you two!!! #iwishiwasthere #madeforeachother."
Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd dated for 10 months in 2012, but the two split up in 2013 because they "hit a rough patch," the Daily Mail reported at the time. In May 2015, Us Weekly reported that the two were "fully back together" after being spotted holding hands outside Craig's restaurant in West Hollywood.
"They're fully back together," a source told Us Weekly about the couple's relationship. A second insider added, "He has been working hard to really be a good guy to her and show her that he's changed."
