Rockstar Games has officially begun rolling out the stimulus package it promised all those who played "Grand Theft Auto Online" during the month of Oct. The $500,000 of in-game cash was meant as a gesture for those who experienced glitches from the multiplayer mode's early launch.
According to IGN, anyone who logged into GTA Online in the month of October will receive the cash through Rockstar. However, the company has warned that it may take up to two full days for the cash to appear in their account. One element of this rollout worth noting is that Rockstar has apparently done away with its original idea of rolling the money out in two installments of $250,000. The entire $500,000 package should appear in all player's accounts after they download the new 1.05 Patch update.
The update was meant to fix the last of the major glitches that affected players like the loss of progress in the event of a cloud outage. It protects your cash balance in the face of a network problem and should help people stop losing their personal vehicles and vehicle mods.
When you try to log into GTA Online next, if you haven't already, you'll be prompted to download the patch. Once you do, you should find a nice extra $500,000 in your in-game bank account.
If the money is not there, don't worry, Rockstar has said that all those who are eligible should have their cash by the end of the day on Friday. Many have already received their stimulus, including some of us here at HNGN. Therefore, we can confirm that this stimulus is happening and users should expect the money as soon as they log on.
What will you be spending your stimulus money on? Guns? Garages? Appartments? Perhaps it's finally time to buy that fancy sports car? Comment and share your thoughts with us below.
