Duncan Jones, the son of the late rock legend David Bowie, is not a fan of pop singer Lady Gaga's tribute performance to his father during the 2016 Grammy Awards, based on a cryptic tweet he posted.
After the singer's performance, the filmmaker posted a definition of the word "gaga" from the Oxford English Dictionary. He wrote: "Over-excited or irrational, typically as a result of infatuation or excessive enthusiasm; mentally confused. Damn it! What IS that word?"
Many people have interpreted Jones' tweet as him being critical of Gaga's performance, which was one of the most talked-about moments in this year's prestigious awards show, the Daily Mail U.K. reported.
Gaga performed a medley of 10 of Bowie's classic songs: "Space Oddity," "Changes," "Ziggy Stardust," "Suffragette City," "Rebel Rebel," "Fashion," "Fame," "Under Pressure," "Let's Dance" and "Heroes."
The pop star also shared a video of herself becoming emotional backstage before she took to the stage and sang the medley alongside Chic pioneer Nile Rodgers. "The world loves you David," she wrote on her Instagram page.
Bowie passed away on Jan. 10, just two days after he celebrated his birthday, after a months-long battle with cancer, HNGN previously reported.
