‘Psych’ Season 8 Will Be Final Season: USA Announces Shawn and Gus Won’t be Solving Anymore Cases (VIDEO)

Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dule Hill) will solve their last case on "Psych" March 26. USA Network announced that the comedy-crime show will end after its current eighth season. The season finale will be followed by a live, interactive Q&A session that promises to answer every fan question.

"'Psych' has made an inedible imprint on the television landscape, with a unique brand of comedy. The final season celebrates the iconic characters that have made this show so beloved, and will be an exclamation point on the series' incredible run. And while the series will wrap in March, somehow I don't believe we've heard the last of Shawn and Gus," USA network President Chris McCumber said in a statement, Hollywood Life reports.

"'Psych' is one of those rare projects that broke into the cultural mainstream. Its wild energy, fearless fun and engaging characters delivered an unrivaled series that will continue to be loved by fans for as long as there are ways to watch TV," Jeff Wachtel, President and Chief Content Officer added, Deadline reports.

The stars of the show also announced the news in a funny video message to fans. In the video, the two joke about the final couple episodes with Hill pretending that he hadn't heard the news.

"We all came together in a big group; we said we wanted to go out on top," Roday told him.

"Final season? I must have blocked it out," Hill responds and starts to "cry."

"We have a lot to look forward to, man. Some of our best cases are still ahead of us," Roday points out.

After a few minutes of telling fans what they can expect when the show returns, Hill and Roday end the video by thanking their fans aka "psychos."

"Psych" returns Feb. 26 on USA Network.
