Texas resident Nita Mosley was murdered and her teenage son has been arrested for the crime. The arrest came nine days after Mosley's decomposing body was found lying on the kitchen floor of their home. The 14-year-old boy has been charged for first-degree murder following a week long search for him and Mosley's stolen car.
A neighbor found the door to Mosley's house open on Sept. 19 and gone in to investigate after not having seen Mosley or her son for some time. He found Mosley lying on the kitchen floor and called 911.
"Saturday morning when I drive by, and I saw the door open, that's when I figured something was wrong. I thought maybe someone had broken in the house or something, and that's when I found the unfortunate event that happened," the man told Click2Houston, according to Fox News.
"She was four months pregnant. She was pretty happy-go-lucky. Didn't have a lot of drama in her life," he added, according to KPRC-TV, via Daily News.
"My family is grieving, they are hurt. They all feel just lost without her. There's nothing bad to say about her. She was beautiful, and smart, and so easy to love. I just want everybody to know that she (Moseley) was beautiful and that she loved, loved her son more than anything in the world. People need to know that. No matter what they're hearing, she loved him," said Betty Simons, the victim's sister, reports Click2Houston.
The victim was a resident of La Marque, a town approximately 50 miles away from Houston.
Officials investigating the incident said that the teen and Mosley's missing car were found on Sunday. The police are still trying to work out the motive behind the murder and said that the boy has been cooperative. The police believe he acted alone.
