Google took the wraps off of its latest flagship smartphone today with the unveiling of the new Nexus 5, complete with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. As a result of the new device's launch, the Google Play Store now has a few new accessories.
The first of the new items available for the smartphone is the new flip cover, the second is a bumper case. The only problem is, while both options are listed in the Google Play Store at the moment, they are both listed as "Coming Soon," according to AndroidCommunity.
The flip cover is dubbed as the LG QuickCover for Nexus 5. Those who are considering purchasing it will be able to choose between a Nexus 5 matching black or white color options. The LG QuickCover will cost $49.99 and offers full device protection. It will add an additional 39 grams of weight when attached to the device but can keep it safe from even the most clumsy of users.
The QuickCover promises access to your home screen without having to swipe to unlock it. It has a sports matte finish on the front and is compatible with wireless charging, a feature offered on the new Nexus 5. All ports and features ereamin accessible as there is an appropriate cutout from the camera, flash, earpiece and all other necessary hardware ports.
The other cover option listed on the Google Play Store is the Nexus 5 Bumper Case. Google has priced this device a little cheaper at $34.99. It will be available in black, gray, red or yellow, depending on the customer's preference. Similar to the QuickCover, the bumper cases are shown as coming soon. Although this case is a bit cheaper, it also offers slightly less protection. Google does mention it has a hard outer shell and soft rubber lining, meaning that it's not completely fragile and will still offer a lot of protection for your device. This too has all of the appropriate cutouts.
