Rockstar has confirmed GTA Online's Beach Bum DLC update can now be downloaded on Xbox 360 with the PlayStation 3 version expected to come out sometime within the next 24 hours.
According to IGN, before you can get a hold of the new items you'll need to download a 64MB title update and then trigger the 33.12MB download separately for the new content.
Originally announced last month, the "Beach Bum" update will include new vehicles, jobs, customization options and weapons that will automatically be added to the game as part of the 1.06 title update. The new downloadable content comes just before the release of the Xbox One and just after the release of the PlayStation 4. This is likely Rockstar's way of keeping fans engaged with its title to convince those who purchased the game on older generation consoles to upgrade.
Jobs range from many new beach-themed races, deathmatches, parachutes, last team standings, survivals and gang attacks will all be added to the game. This includes a new Survival game type match located on Del Perro Pier where you and your friends can fight off wave after wave of enemies in front of the ferris wheel and roller coaster.
New vehicles will include the BF Bifta dune buggy, Canis Kalahari off-road truck and Bravado Paradise beach camper van. All of these will be added for free via your in-game phone. In addition, the Speeder speedboat can be picked up via the marina.
As for weapon upgrades, Los Santos' Ammu-Nation stores will begin selling the SNS Pistol and Broken Bottle weapons. Finally, in order to complete the beach theme, new customization options for your character including tribal tattoos, board shorts and other surfer attire will be available for your character.
