David Bowie's "Blackstar" album will come to life on InstaMiniSeries - an Instagram channel that creates episodic programs in the form of videos -according to Billboard.
The 16-episode series, titled "UNBOUND: A ★ InstaMiniSeries," (the star symbol pronounced "Blackstar") will premiere on Thursday at 8 p.m. with the remaining episodes scheduled to air every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Bowie gave the creators of InstaMiniSeries early access to his new album in order to "create our own visual interpretations of his songs, with no limits or preconditions on his part," producers of the series said in a statement on Monday.
Each episode of the miniseries "takes the audience on a journey of evocative images inspired by the moods suggested in the album's music, lyrics and artwork."
The Instagram miniseries stars Tavi Gevinson and Patricia Clarkson and is directed and written by Carolynn Cecilia and Nikki Borges. Lawrence Peryer served as the producer, according to Pitchfork.
"David Bowie was a trailblazer, not just in the world of music, but in the art of storytelling," said Carolynn Cecilia, a writer and producer for Unbound, according to the statement. "Whether through lyrics, melodies, film, theater or mythical persona he never fails to transcend WHAT WAS and set the tone -and the bar- for what CAN BE. As story-tellers and music lovers, who better for us to be inspired by than David Bowie?"
"Blackstar" dropped two days before Bowie's death on Jan. 8 and went on to become his first album ever to top the Billboard 200 chart.
